                                                    Picture
The primary focus of the ABUA GB is to provide leadership, develop and train qualified and dedicated baseball umpires through the Umpire Development Plan who are interested in promoting the sport of baseball, with a concentration on providing outstanding professional services to the British Baseball Federation CEB and the IBAF if required.

The ABUA GB conducts training sessions, workshops and clinics devoted to the philosophy of officiating, umpire mechanics and rule interpretations. As part of the curriculum we make available a variety of educational materials to the course participants; including rule books, umpire manuals, interpretations, guidelines and rulings.

The ABUA GB is forming alliances with other umpire associations and professional organizations in both the United States/Canada and Continental Europe (CEB) to ensure that interested officials gain additional experience and proficiency from these opportunities.

                                                    ABUA GB PHILOSOPHY

The ABUA GB was formed to provide umpires at all skill levels with the opportunity to improve on their mechanics and advance to the next level of umpiring. This shall be accomplished by conducting on-field clinics with veteran umpires, sharpening their knowledge of the rules of baseball with study sessions and application of these rules in real time game situations working with veteran umpires. ABUA GB also strives to improve an umpire's skill level by gradually introducing an umpire to increased levels of baseball games that will test the individual's advancement.

ABUA GB recognizes that honing umpire skills require constant repetition of high levels of baseball. Therefore, not only are we striving to keep our umpires active throughout the year, we are committed to providing them with the highest levels of baseball in the United Kingdom and Europe.

The impression each umpire makes on the , fans, leagues, coaches, and players by their attitude and appearance is vitally important to our reputation as the leader in providing a value for money srvice but with a profeessional approach.
